The touch screen facility that Apple offers for its mobile devices could soon be available for their desktop hardware as well, according to a recently filed patent application.

Soon it may be possible for desktops to have the mouse as well as touch screen option, with the help of an adjustable stand that this article speaks about. In the patent filed there is an iMac like computer which however is equipped with a particular kind of stand, which is adjustable. You can keep it in an upright position or tilt it, if you wish to use it more like the iPad.
Since it will be able to be used as an iMac as well as touch enable devices, it can virtually transform itself into a giant iPad, it is thought. The idea is that this new technique that will use the tilting stand or sensors to offer the touch experience, will facilitate several applications and help people use them more effectively – media consumption, games, drawing, could work better with touch screen for instance.
And one would still have the option of using the keyboard and mouse option for other traditional functions such as word processing and spreadsheets.
