The Arc Nalu Laptop – A New Concept In Ergonomic Computing

The Laptop of the future was recently unveiled by Washington start up Arc, who seems to take their name seriously. The Nalu concept laptop with a radical curved design has evoked much interest among netizens and bloggers, but appears to have drawn mixed responses.

The screen as well as the keyboard – the entire chassis of this new design is supposed to be curved and will have an OLED display.

There is a single central hinge connecting the screen to the rest of the laptop so that both curved surfaces can sit and fit neatly one on the other.

This futuristic design is also supposed to make a lot of ergonomic sense according to the creator David Prokop. The keyboard curved and is also split to leave room in the center or a touch screen display which can be used as a touchpad or an application launcher.

This unique keyboard design will help users to position their hands more naturally and avoid the sort of stress that may lead to RSIs. This will also help keep the components cooler because of better ventilation. Also the OLED display screen is curved offering more natural viewing than flat screens and reducing eye strain.
