Ergonomic Don’ts For Your Workstation

You are perhaps conscious of certain things that are good office ergonomic practices and perhaps you incorporate them into your daily activities.
If you have the do’s covered, well for you.
However, there may be certain don’ts that have crept into your activities.
- Is your monitor too high? Because that would mean you are tilting your head back and probably fatiguing your neck[neck pain] and shoulders.
- Is your monitor positioned too low? Because that would mean you are looking down at it and also causing yourself fatigue.
- Do your keyboard and mouse cause you to get into awkward positions or your limbs to assume awkward shapes? Because this will cause strain, cramping and even injury. Try and have everything in a position that is easily accessible and which is able to offer comfort of use without contortion of any sort.
- Is your chair uncomfortable? Remember this is where you spend several hours a day; make sure that your chair has adequate lumbar support and has arm rests.
- Do your feet dangle? Then your chair is too high and probably needs to be lower or you need a foot rest so that your feet have support.
